The fewer chances young people have to build real-life skills, the worse their mental health outcomes tend to be. Education Program Directors believe that young adults need structured mentorship programs to develop essential life skills because traditional education does not cover these topics.

This is often due to a focus on theoretical knowledge and standardized testing, while practical skills like cooking, financial literacy, basic repairs, and decision-making are sometimes overlooked.
2. Career Preperation- Many high school graduates, including a significant number, express feeling unprepared for post-graduation choices like college or career paths. Surveys indicate that a large portion of students are undecided about their future direction, and many graduates have not followed a planned path. Additionally, there's a perception among teachers, parents, and other stakeholders that high schools are not adequately preparing students for their future.
